Stirling Smith Art Gallery and Museum
Stirling Smith Art Gallery and Museum

The Stirling Smith Art Gallery and Museum was founded by artist and collector Thomas Stuart Smith and opened in 1874, and is now home to a major collection containing thousands of artworks and artefacts, including the World's Oldest Football and the Neish Collection of British Pewter. Our main exhibition is the Stirling Story, telling the town's eventful history through objects from our collection. We also host several temporary exhibitions each year, from visiting artists or of hidden treasures taken out of our own storage. We also have a cafe, a lecture/meeting room and a small reference library open on Thursdays or by appointment.
